Fall 2008 Announcements

CIS 90
[Sept-01-2008] Any of the PC's along the wall facing 2503 can be used for working lab assignments. Putty can be used to remotely access Opus. To use Linux locally, depress button II (prior to powering on) on the systems with Trios switches to boot Linux. On the newer systems, run VMware Server and select the virtual machine named 90-rh9 to run a Red Hat 9 system.
CIS 191
[Sept-10-2008] The newer systems running VMware Server should be used for lab assignments. These systems can boot from USB and have several Linux ISOs in the C:\depot folder for installation practice. All installations should be done by creating and installing into a new VM. There are two new systems at the end of the long table facing 2503. There are also two newer systems in the outer system pods (in the 4th lower-right positions). Please delete any new VM's you create as we are short on disk space. You can backup your VM's to a pen drive if it is large enough.
